Beachin' it

Zushi Beach
Tis the season to be roasted.

I've never gone to the beach so much in my life. That's saying a lot being that I grew up in Hawaii.  I don't think I've ever been more tanned! This year I've been frequenting Zushi beach. Conveniently located just 30 minutes away from my place.  The water is just a tad cleaner than Enoshima but the beach is much smaller. Due to the size, there are less girls there too, but the best part is, the hoards of guys that nampa (hit on girls) aren't around. Of course they are there, just not en masse. In the end the eye candy there is much more suited to my taste. Less roasted dark blond teenage gyaru, more of everything I like, with less "competition" going around... oh yeah!

As far as other entertainment, well there's the beach, the water, and the beach houses that line the beach. Nothing special so far. But Zushi beach has got a real live "reality" show being filmed in progress. This year 金スマ海の家(Friday SMAP beach house) is being filmed at a little ice cream shop/beach house called Helmut.

82522-415019-thumbnail.jpgI believe it's a small segment of a weekly variety show called  金スマ (Friday SMAP) on TBS. Something about the life of 3 models working  part time at an ice cream place. I don't know the details about the show, I hear this segment will start airing the last half of August or something. But at any rate it was fun talking to the models/actresses when buying ice cream etc. Kind of nerve racking when the cameraman is there recording you. It's bad enough trying to start up a conversation with them in Japanese. On top of that, they look good. Putting a camera in my face while I do it is unbearable.  My friend Jon actually went 4 days in a row, bought a ton of ice cream just to get the chances to chat with one of them, and finally, worked up the guts to ask one of them for her phone number. He had to settle for giving her his info instead. No word yet on if she ever called. Ha! Watching him in action 3 of the 4 days sure was entertaining.

82522-415023-thumbnail.jpgOut of the 3, I thought Kizuki was the cutest. She's just SO my type. Good times man. I hope she becomes famous. Then this picture I took of us would be DOPE. I just wish I checked my hair first. Ha! (^_^)

Are you wearing fucking puka shells?

I think it's beads made from bone. But I'd sure like to find a shell necklace. Maybe not puka shell but shell something. I tried on a kukui nut necklace the other day. So funny!

Rick, you need to get a real job ;-)

It's OK to be beach bum when you're 20 something but after 30 people start wondering what you are doing at the beach on a weekday. They'll think you're either really rich and retired or a you-know-what with a capital "L"...

That said.. I wish I could spend the entire week in Zushi watching beautiful chicks...ok back to work...

Sick! you live that close to the beach? Is that 30 min by ashi/chari/densha/or skateboard? I would go everyday, too. I'm practically albino now.

hmmm. I wish I could be at that beach on weekdays. If I were a NEET, then maybe ... I have never been there, maybe I should go during the weekend. If I go by JR train line to Zushi, how to proceed from that station?

Roy: I like to think that I don't look like I'm in my 30's so I still pass. ;)

Kuba: It's 30 min by local train.

Lori: That hair was styled by mother nature with lots of salt water and scorching sun.

J: I've never gone from Zushi station. Shin-zushi is on my train line so I use that, but I hear the stations are only like 7 min. apart by foot. But from Shin-zushi use the Minami exit. And there are directions to the beach at the exit! :)
