And the top SNS is...
Social Networking Sites
MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, Mixi, I'm on them all. Makes you wonder why you're even on them. Personally I only use Facebook and Mixi regularly.
Mixi is Japan's version of an SNS and is quite useful to keep up with my Japanese friends just because most people on it use it as an easy way to blog. It's communities are pretty active and posting a question in one usually gets you an answer which is pretty useful for a foreigner living in Japan.
Facebook is well... interesting. Especially because all the widgets that you can install make it more fun than the other sites. Rather than having to write a meaningful comment about/to someone. You can just throw "food" at them or give them a "bitch slap". It's also impossible to put up freaky backgrounds (most of which don't display correctly anyways like on MySpace) so that it's much more pleasing to the eye to look at. Rating movies, drawing on peoples pages. Interactivity is fun.
Is your goal just to add people you don't even know like crazy so that you can reach a 1000 friends? Or are you actually trying to network with more people? Have you actually met people? Maybe you're active in a community/network and you can get some info from them? Who knows. Do you use them? Do you enjoy it? Why?

Great questions! Looking forward to reading responses. I have a sad little Facebook section thanks to a pal hooking me up. What's the point here? What do I do with it?;) Help! I have like 2 friends on it.
Well put a pic on it and invite all your friends on your e-mail list! I bet some of your friends are already on some of them. Install some widgets!
I'd be happy to throw some sheep at you.
Ha! Ha! Thanks Ricky.;) I need to get my butt in gear.

i have accounts on just about everything too...but am only active on facebook.
